Bo Phut vs Southern end of Chaweng

Thanks for your help in advance. I%26#39;ve been reading loads of reviews and posts on the forum. I%26#39;m now torn between choosing a hotel on the southern end of Chaweng (e.g. Buri Rasa) or a hotel in Bo Phut (Ban Laem Sai).

We are a couple coming to stay in Koh Samui for 4 nights. We love being in a peaceful area. No nightlife or clubbing for us. We would likely to go to dinner in town, but always hire a moped if we need to.

I know the southern bit of Chaweng has a better beach and nice sand than Bo Phut, but will Buri Rasa be really nosiy and not as private? I%26#39;m finding it so hard to decide between these 2 now!

All advice welcome!!

Bo Phut vs Southern end of Chaweng

If you%26#39;re looking for a bit of peace and quiet, then Bo Phut%26#39;s the place. There are some really good restaurants in the Fisherman%26#39;s Village and Chaweng is only a short cab ride away, if you%26#39;re looking for something a little more lively one evening.

Thanks StuRob..... I guess we prefer a peaceful place. But heard all the review for Buri Rasa, which is on the southern end of Chaweng. Everyone said it%26#39;s really peaceful and quiet there....... is this releative or actually peaceful....

Still struggling to choose between Bo Phut and southern Chaweng!

Thanks again for your help!

Just came back from Bohput and can highly reccomend staying in the Baan Bophut - amazing hotel on the beach with only 13 rooms really friendly reasonable price and amazing location. if you are looking for something a bit quietier its great and only a cheap taxi drive into Chaweng - was only meant to stay two days and stayed for eight!!!! Enjoy :) PS Request ground floor sea view

Thanks..... the problem is the direct flight from samui to hk is all full now. :(

May be have to go Krabi or Langkawi instead!

But thanks anyway .... hope to stay in Ban Laem Sai Resort next time round!

Jewli, wasnt able to reply to your message.

I found Bursi Rasa great even though in centre of Chaweng, resort itself was quiet and well catered for, beach was busy but plenty of lounges, pool adequate and breakfast standard fare.

Outside of resort, yes it is busy and a little noisy but not over bearing.

I was originally booked into Zazen Boutique Resort in Bo Phut, booked and eposit paid 3 months before due date only to be told 10 days before arriving , they were over booked. Being last night I got good rate from Buri rasa and I was not disappointed.

When I visit again I would probably split the week btw Buri and another round Bo Phut...much quieter and peaceful
