Hiring a driver - ITINERARY!

Hello,

We are thinking of hiring a driver for a day whilst we are in Phuket.

What is a typical itinerary we can expect? can anyone give me an example of their itinerary as i know many have done the same i.e. hired a driver.

thanks!

Hi Kimberley, here%26#39;s a link to the day we spent with Sam. Lee

Hiring a driver - ITINERARY!

If you hire Mr Mor you can tell him what you want to do and where you want to go and he%26#39;ll then work out the best route to avoid backtracking... with him, we have been to Kata viewpoint, Rawai beach for seafood dinner, Tungka cafe for lunch, coastal road up through Patong, Kamala, Surin, drive through rubber plantations and up to northern beaches, visiting temples in different areas, shopping in Surin, Patong, Phuket Town, drive up the hill to see the big Buddha being built, butterfly farm, elephant trek, night markets, day markets etc etc. Not all on one day of course!

His email is pongkands@gmail.com - wise to prebook as he%26#39;s very popular and very busy right up to October at the moment.

Hi,

We contacted Mr Sam and suggested some of places we wanted to go and let him put the schedule together.

This is what he came up with:

Pick up at 09:00 hrs from Hotel and drive to

* Kamala Beach

* Surin Beach

* Bang Tao Beach

* Nai Thorn Beach

13:00 hrs Lunch at Laem Hin Port and Maphrao Island.

* Sea Gypsea Village on Sirey Island

* Chalong Temple

* Rawai Beach

* Small View point restaurant

17:00hrs Back to the hotel.

Try to finish all the above for you.

Can%26#39;t wait!!

Hi

We are first timers on the forum (first time writing anyway - we have read hundreds of comments over the last couple of months). Sometimes think we have read too much, as we are now scared to death of using our credit card, daren%26#39;t go swimming in the sea and fully expect to get it to death by mozzies. We are going to Phuket for the first time - two weeks today, and quite like the sound of hiring a driver for the day.

I have seen Sam%26#39;s name crop up a few times - does anyone know how to contact him?

Hi Donny,

I hope you have read all the great stuff too. Nothing to be worried about.

You can contact Sam at: samthailand@gmail.com

I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll have a great time.

Mr Mor is much cheaper than Mr Sam so if you don%26#39;t want to spend a fortune he%26#39;s a really good option as well. You can contact him on pongkands@gmail.com

We were given a quote for Mr Mor of 1600-1800baht/day and 1500 for day trip with Sam.

Hi Sarah, that%26#39;s almost our route backwards except for lunch stop and our side trip to Siray Island. We just loved seeing all the other beaches as they were so different from Patong %26amp; Karon. Trouble is, now I want to stay at them all next time, so will have great fun deciding, not. You must be starting to get excited again.

Thanks Guys

It%26#39;s good to be a part of the forum and benefit from of the great advice. Hopefully I can return the compliment on our return.

Hi Lee,

Trying not to get too excited just yet, still 130 sleeps to go - not that I%26#39;m counting - much!!

Did you also do the trip with Sam?? I am so looking forward to seeing more of Phuket. We didn%26#39;t do a great deal of that on our last trip.

Which was your favourite beach and where are you staying next time?

Hi Sarah

I did a JBR on our day with Sam (above) so people might get some idea of things that are a possibility, or worth a look. I really liked Naithon Beach, Layan Beach area and Surin Beach, we didn%26#39;t get a close look at Bang Tao, unfortunately. I like the Andaman Bang Tao Beach Bungalows, but didn%26#39;t get to see them. There were some nice bungalows down Rawai area that we liked the look of, for a few days chillin. Not sure where we%26#39;ll stay next, depends on whether with another couple or on our own. I%26#39;m really keen to spend some time in Khao Lak and Krabi too. Think we might have to do another trip to include Chiang Mai, Koh Phangan and Ko Chang.

Here%26#39;s a link to our photos of day with Sam.
