How to do Bangkok

We are a family of four including two teenage boys and want to do the sights of Bangkok next week. Speaking to tourist in our hotel on Koh Samui we have been recommended a tour guide called Tong as she will get you to all the right spots quickly. Want to do Palace, floating market, temples etc. Would appreciate any advice or tips. What about tiger temple have heard it is cruel?

How to do Bangkok

You will really enjoy Bangkok! Tong is an excellent guide, but it is VERY difficult to schedule her on short notice unless she has a last-minute cancellation. We have always used her, but I do understand that members of her team are also very good and she will connect you with one of them if someone is available.

We went to the Tiger Cave Temple last year and were quite impressed. Some people think the animals are drugged, but I really think that they have just been fed and are more content. The monks stay with the tigers and escort the visitors and I did not see any danger -- nor was I afraid. Using your camera, the workers will take many pictures of you and your family with the tigers In fact, we have several pictures that are reminders of the exceptional day we had at the Tiger Cave Temple. They are so special that one of them will probably be used for this year%26#39;s holiday cards.

Cruelty at the Temple? I don%26#39;t think so!!!!! Can anyone really think of monks (who care for the animals) and cruelty at the same time?

Go -- and enjoy the beauty of these magnificent animals.

If it helps you to make a decision -- we are going back to BKK in December and already have Tong scheduled for two days. We will return to the Tiger Cave Temple.

Excellent tips on the Tiger Temple. We%26#39;ve been contemplating that as well and will definitely get that done.

Quick question, who is Tong and how do I get in touch with her?

The Demigod

Tong is a well recommended guide on this forum. Do a search on this forum for tong. Something will turn up for sure.

Tong can be reached at

tourwithtong@yahoo.com or pornpitcha@yahoo.com

The earlier you can contact her with a date, the better your chances of securing her tour services. We usually contact her about 6 months in advance of our trips.

As others have said, ';When you use Tong as a guide, you leave with a friend.'; You won%26#39;t regret it.

Although I highly doubt that she%26#39;ll be available next week (which is when we%26#39;ll be arriving. one of those spur-of-the-moment trips, so to speak), I appreciate your help nonetheless.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for all the tips I feel reasuured about the tiger temple think we will go

Hi!

Email Tong with your dates -- even thought they are next week. You never know -- she just might have a cancellation and a free day.

Give her a try, and enjoy your trip.
