Phuket To Kuala Lumpur?? Without Flying?

Can anyone suggest the best or easiest way to get to Kuala Lumpur from Phuket without flying

Which City Would I need to get to for a train/bus since Phuket does not have any??

Is it safe for a 17yr old male to be travelling alone on trains/buses between Phuket and Kuala Lumpur?

From phuket you will have to pick up the train at Surat Thani. this train originates from Bangkok and terminates at Butterworth (Malaysia). Train arrives at Surat Thani at 0046 and arrives at butterworth at 1345. at butterworth you will have to change trains for KL. the train from butterworth leaves at 2055. both the above trains have seats and/or sleeper compartments.

from phuket to surat thani will take 4 hors by minivan/car/bus.

unfortunately you cannot book from surat thani thru to KL. you will have to book/pay separately for surat thani/butterworth at state rail of thailand office and butterworth/KL at malaysian railway office.

a travel agent may be able to do this for you.

as you can read from the above it will take close on 48 hrs to get there. a long trip and will cost just as much as flying. check thaiairasia for cheap flights to KL.
