beach/shops...where?

ok...so i gave up on villas...i%26#39;m just looking for

a hotel that has a nice beach...and close to some shops

and restraunts....in kata, karon, or patong..

not too much night life.. as i%26#39;m going there with my parents.

just a simple nice quiet town with some shops and nice beach.(not too crowded)

i was thinking le merdien , amari, katathani.. but i guess they r not that close to some shops???

Hi, the three mentioned require transport in tuk tuk to shops, very short distance for Amari and Katathani. Katathani is at a nicer beach area than the Amari (which is on a headland and has rocky areas). It%26#39;s quieter at Kata Beach than Patong, although you can easily get to Patong if you want, so out of the 3 I%26#39;d choose Kata Beach for what you want. Have you looked at the areas a little north of Patong, Kamala or Surin Beah areas, they are also quieter than Kata, Karon or Patong. More info re these areas can be found on:

jeica8, Mom Tri%26#39;s Boathouse or The Kata Beach Resort sounds like what you are looking for. Some very nice shopping and good restaurants within seconds from either of these hotels.
