Dining at Kata Beach

We are staying at 6 nights at Kata Beach Resort,

Can anyone advise of any great dining establishments or experiences including on the beach around that area . We are a party of 10 adults with 5 young children.

Dining at Kata Beach

If you go onto the beach and looking at the sea turn left and walk along the beach you will come across about 4 resturuants together they are all great we tried them all.The best was the one where you sat right on the beach and they had a fire eater each night to watch. There is one where you can have a candle lit meal. There is also plenty of choice if you go outside onto the road lots of different ones to chose from you won%26#39;t be short of choices. Have a great holiday Bez.

Dining at Kata Beach

We love Small View. Up on the hill over looking Kata Noi.

We wanted to stay at the Kata Beach but there was no availablity. Can%26#39;t wait to hear what you think. Its location is sensational.

Hi Ray

If you do a search for ';Kata restaurants';, there were similar posts in May and Jan or Feb, I saved some of the info for our trip in April, so if you can%26#39;t find them, PM me and I%26#39;ll send it to you.

Agree with Bez,

the restaurant that Bez recommends with the fire dancers is Kata Pen Seafood (next to the Ska Bar under the big tree) the very last restaurant in the corner on the southern end of Kata Beach. Excellent for BBQ tiger prawns if you like seafood. Otherwise the Thai food is great there and inexpensive! More of a homely atmosphere so dont expect a fine dining experience. The restaurant next door - Kata Mamma is also good. All the same family.

Mamma Pats is also nice for Thai food (opposite Club Med). Pat is also related to the same family.

Have not tried Seaview that Aussieangie recommends but will be going soon. It is always nice to try different restaurants.

For a more sophisticated restaurant Mom Tri%26#39;s Villa Royale and Mom Tri%26#39;s Boathouse are both excellent. Pricey but worth it.

Other western restaurant recommendations in Kata: The Two Chefs (opposite The Boathouse), The Horn Grill and Alla Capanninas for the best pizzas and Italian food. The last 2 restaurants are within seconds from The Kata Beach Resort.

Otherwise thanks Sylvie for your kind words.

And now I am off to a dinner party at Siam Indigo in Phuket Town. Eat your hearts out guys I highly recommend it :)))

Bon Appetit!

Chantal

Would not put Seaview in the same class as Mom Tri%26#39;s Villa Royale and Mom Tri%26#39;s Boathouse. Great view good food and very well priced

Hi Ange,

Roughly how much would a meal at the Seaview cost? Sounds like a spot for me to check out.

Stu

Are these places walking Distance to the Horizon beach resort Karon?

Hi ,

We were at the Kata Beach Resort in May and our favourite

restaraunt was across the road, The Horngrill !!!!!

We went there at least 3 times and loved the food.

No view as such but great food and service.

In fact one night we were talking to people at the next table and they were staying at Mom Tri%26#39;s, and they said the food was better at The Horngrill and much more reasonably priced.

Cheers Lindy.

You could do a very long walk from south of Horizon, right at junction to the north end of Kata Beach and walk along sand to Kata Beach resort, keep going to the SKA bar, but I wouldn%26#39;t. We stayed at Kata Palm and walked to Marina Phuket and the shops near there one day, jumped in a tuk tuk back (100baht). There are some restaurants down the hill turn left (Dino%26#39;s across the road) and left again at the junction mentioned above that are walkable, there are also some nice ones when you get down the hill from Horizon and turn right, walk past the stadium and there%26#39;s about 6 or so to choose from, Hello Hello, My Best Friend, good food, good prices. When we stayed at Marina Phuket we got on a songtheow to Karon circle area and there are some nice restaurants near there as well, (we did walk this far one day, but again it was just too hot to consider walking back.
