For those who have been to Aleenta Hua Hin.. .

I am thinking of going with my husband, and for the time of our trip the Pool Villas are all booked (this would have been my first choice since they are separate and on the edge of the beach). The Palm Suites or Palm Pool Suites, as they are also called, are available, so my question is: has anyone stayed in these, or checked them out, and can tell me, is there one that is preferable over the others for privacy/view, proximity to the water, etc? I am finding it impossible to tell from the pictures on the resort%26#39;s website which one is which. Some seem to be very close together, and separated by screens. . .what I am looking for is something that is hopefully more private and open, as I would like to be able to see down the beach to the mountains from my little plunge pool! Any help or insights would be really appreciated! Thanks!

We too had the same problem in choosing the suites. I am a travel counsultant, and am so so fussy about where I stay, so I know exactly what you%26#39;re going through! Firstly we wanted a round suite, but actually I%26#39;m quite glad we didn%26#39;t in the end, as the palm suite is bigger, and has more outdoor space. The one we had was the Chusan Palm, no 104. We think that this was actually the best one, as it also has an upstairs terrace with sunbeds (even though it is covered over) but nice and private and great place to sit in the morning and read a book. As you walk out of the suite%26#39;s french doors, you have the daybeds and plunge pool area directly in front of you, which are screened off and private from your neighbours. After a step down on to the grass, this suite has a decking area where there is a lovely table and chairs and where you can have your breakfast delivered. But in the day we used to move the table and chairs on to the grass, and lay the daybeds out on the deck, as you then have a fab sunbathing area! None of the other suites have this, so we found it a fantastic bonus. Your are directly overlooking the beach from here, but no one ever sunbathes on the beach, as the tide is out quite far during the day, and it%26#39;s just too hot. This suite was at the end of the resort, not the last one, but the one before. We found our suite perfect, as it had the sun during the day, whereas the end one doesn%26#39;t. The suites don%26#39;t have huge privacy between them, as they have communal garden areas. But we never really ever saw anyone, apart from at breakfast or at supper. Didn%26#39;t see anyone use the hotel pool either, but it is lovely, and right next to the bar. We didn%26#39;t get a chance to go to see the Frangipani wing, which is further down the road, but you can also use their swimming pool which is bigger apparantly. You can also eat there too.

The bathroom in this suite is fantastic!

We stayed 4 nights, which we found perfect for a peaceful few days doing very little. We had previously spend 5 nights at the Dusit Hua Hin, which again is a fab hotel, but totally different with lots going on, but this was a great combination of places to stay.

The Aleenta is remote, there aren%26#39;t really any bars or restaurants around it ( there are a few beach bars but we didn%26#39;t use them) so you do tend to end up eating at the hotel. But the food is great, and we were glad to go back every night to eat.
