Hi all,
We basically have approx 30 days in SE Asia, and are thinking of spending our time as such (this is just a rough guide, we do not intend to follow it exactly):
Hong Kong 3 nights
Chiang Mai - 3 nights
Sukothai - 2 nights
Bangkok- 3 nights
Southern island (possible Ko Lanta or Ko Lipe - we are looking for somewhere with reasonably priced beach bungalows, some nightlife, but not into the Full Moon Party vibe) - 4 nights
Langkawi, Malaysia- 3 nights
Penang, Malaysia- 2 nights
Kuala Lumpar - 2 nights
***if time allows, a trip to Bukit Lawang, Indonesia
Is this reasonable? Are we missing any major highlights? Should more/less time be allocated to some places?
Thailand/Malaysia ItineraryThe nights at locations you have shown add up to 22 nights, compared to the 30 days mentioned in your intro. Have you missed something out?
General observation though, is that with short stays as you have outlined there is still quite a bit of travelling time in between. Langkawi and Penang are both nice but different islands but 2 nights on Penang won%26#39;t scratch the surface.
Thailand/Malaysia ItineraryThe additional time I have left free for travel time between places, and possible extended stays at some places, or a trip to Bukit Lawang , Indo if time permits (flying to and from Medan)
Is the nights (4 days) enought time in Chiang Mai? Bangkok?
I thought that maybe 2 nights would not be enough for Penang and will probably add more time to it....
