Will hotels match prices? - Buri Rasa

I know in a lot of cases it is cheaper to book directly with the hotel, and to be honest I prefer to do this.

If direct rates come up more than others e.g. Asiarooms, is it worth contacting the hotel and see if they will do a deal?

I%26#39;m looking to stay at the Buri Rasa next year, and the Asiarooms price is around £25 a night cheaper - is it worth a go? Has anyone else done this?

Thanks

if you can book directly with the hotel and its gonna save you money then thats a no brainer, makes no sense paying over the odds for the same hotel.

That%26#39;s what I said!

I asked if the direct rates come up MORE than others.......

I%26#39;m facing the same problem. Asiaroom rates are significantly lower ($25-$40/night) that what is being offered directly by the hotel or any other website. I know Asiaroom ask for Credit Card information and connect with the hotel. Dont know how this works as this is not like Expedia where you get instant booking confirmation.

Is Asiaroom website reliable?

Update - when I emailed the resort to find out availability, I just politely asked if they would do any discount as I wanted to book 10 nights - they offered me 10% off right there and then!

Brought it down to within a few pounds of the Asiarooms price, plus I don%26#39;t have to pay the balance until we check out.

To the other person, I used Asiarooms to book our stay in Bangkok last year and had no probs, but I%26#39;m not sure if they are reliable overall. This trip will be our honeymoon and I didn%26#39;t want to gamble.

Try just asking the hotel, worked for me!

Have used asiarooms several times and have never had a problem. They have also been discussed on here numerous times, stick it in the search box and see what comes up.

We are staying at Bura rasa in early September We booked through Sawadee which was about 10% cheaper than Buri Rasa advertised rates. We then confimed the booking with Bura Rasa and all seems ok

Case 1:

Many hotels have to count on booking websites due to the number of room nights these websites can produce. When you contact the properties directly, they often have:

- higher rates because the individual guests don’t book with them that much.

- same rates or even lower for case 2.

Case 2:

Many hotels choose to take customers directly and you often see “Best Rate Guarantee” banner in their websites. In the long run, guests will love this practice as they don’t need to waste time shopping around.

In Case 1, rooms the hotels assign for booking website customers are often in less perfect conditions (older towels, older carpet, a bit smaller, etc.) due to the low rates they pay. You may see the difference if you book directly next time for the same room category at higher rate. There is no signage telling you if room is Superior A or Superior A+.

As often as not, Hotels will NOT match rates advertised by Asiarooms, Adoga, etc.

I use Asiarooms often, and have never had a problem with them, including getting refunds for cancelled bookings.

If you are staying a few nights, and don%26#39;t like paying for it all up-front, take a look at http://www.thaihoteldiscount.com They charge the first night to your credit card, and then organise with you (they call you at the hotel) to send a courier to the hotel to collect the balance in cash or credit card.

I have also had no problem in getting refunds on two different occasions from them. (As with Asiarooms, refunds can take a month to re-appear in your credit card account. Adoga are a little faster about two weeks.)

It doesn%26#39;t hurt to see what www.wotif.com is offering if your accomodation is needed within 30 days.
