from baiyoke sky to grand palace

Hi,

Please advise how to get to Grand Palace from baiyoke sky hotel.

we%26#39;re planning to visit Temple of Reclining Budha, Grand Palace, and Temple of the Dawn in 1 day how much should we pay for each place? which place should we visit first?

Heard about Bangkok famous transport ';Tuk-Tuk'; can we go there by ';Tuk-Tuk'; and how much will it cost?

thanks in advance

Tuk-tuks are good to look at but not good to ride in. They are used in Bangkok for delivering market goods, to squeeze as many students into one as possible, and for tourists.

I don%26#39;t recomend it, but if you must use one, then up to you!

Drivers are argumentative, taxi-meters with air conditioning are cheaper, tuk-tuks are noisy, bumpy, and you can%26#39;t take in the view cos the roof is so low. You will also be breathing in all the car fumes from the vehicles around you.

A taxi-meter would be best. Ensure they switch on the meter, or tell him to stop and wave down another one. Usually no problem, but the Grand Palace area is renowned for opportunists.

If you want to walk from your hotel, walk up to the start of the Ratchadamri Road, and go under the bridge where you can board a Khlong San Saeb ferry heading west. This will take you along the canal past Jim Thompsons house and Boe Bae Market to the end of the line. You%26#39;ll know when you get there as everyone gets off. To pay for a ticket on the ferry ask to go to Ta Rua Panfah. This will cost you about 12 Baht.

It%26#39;s about a 15 minute walk to the Grand Palace and other places from here.

Don%26#39;t take a Tuk-Tuk. Many of them will charge you 200 Baht for a short ride and you can bargain down to 120 - 150 Baht. They’ll say “Traffic jam.”

A meter taxi driver may say ';1,000 Baht to Grand Palace, Sir.';

Be prepared.

I%26#39;ll take that klong boat trip. Sounds like a nice experience to see how other Bangkokians are living.

I%26#39;d rather say ';infamous Tuk-Tuk';.

boat will be perfect, or taxi..make sure they use ';meter'; only..
