Katathani Hotel in September - Advice pls

Hi

We are about to book 11 nights in Phuket at the Katathani. We are a family of four ( two children aged 6 and 3) and are looking at a Junior Suite as this seems more roomy.

Can any one pls provide us with an opinion of the hotel with children of this age. We are happy not to be in a really busy area and just want time to relax and chill out. We will have breakfast included but will probably eat out for other meals. We travelled to Hua Hin last year and stayed at the Hilton in Gulf Suite and had a fantastic time so are used to travelling in Thailand with the kids.

Can you suggest restaurants etc that are child friendly and serve western meals as well as Thai as the kids are more likely to want western.

Any other suggestions for things to do with the kids would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Dreamhol

Katathani Hotel in September - Advice pls

Hi Dreamhol,

We stayed also for 11 nights in July and stayed at the junior suite. We found the hotel suit us really well , our kids are 6 and 9 and they loved the pool and although the beach is rough, they can still play on the side and can go back to the pool without crossing the road.We are not into night life anymore because my kids sleeps early after a full day so even if we stay in Patong , we would be just in the hotel by 9pm. There are 2 restaurant in front of the hotel and they have western food as well. My kids also like western food sometimes , and they were not too bad. You can always catch a tuk tuk to Kata some nights about 150bt each way . They also like to go to Dino Park to eat and play mini golf. I have lots of info about the hotel, pm me if you like.

Cheers , TATIANA

Hi Tatiana

Thanks so much for replying. Did your kids use the kids club at all and if so, how was it?

Thanks

Kate

Hi Kate,

Our children do not use the kids club at all, it is quite small, they have games and PS2 I think. But my boys just live in the pool and beach all day. Sometimes we use the hotel free shuttle bus to Phuket town , it leaves at 1 pm and back at 4pm. They have lunch by the pool and we have lunch when we go out to town. We also hire 2 days with private driver and sailing with Capt Mark. 11 nights seems long enough but it was so quick for us , we enjoyed it so much.

Cheers, TATIANA
