Bo Phut versus the rest of Koh Samui?

Hi there,

We%26#39;re thinking of going to Bo Phut for our honeymoon destination next year as we wanted somewhere that had places to eat and drink within walking distance but without the touristy feel of Chaweng. Is there anywhere else we could look at as a possibility before we book it, we want to be near a beach but not too far away from restaurants, cafes etc. I%26#39;ve looked at some great looking places such Tongsai but it appears to be abit in the middle of nowhere? Any help or suggestions would be great, thanks.

We stayed at Chongmon which is about 15mins away from Bo phut and it was beautiful with restaurants along the beach but check out other posts on this forum as Bo Phut is supposed to be fantastic - we took a taxi to Fishermans village which is in the bo phut area to eat some evenings as its alot less busy than chaeweng - there is alos a beautiful stretch of beach at bo phut too - definately recommend it and if we ever go back to samui i would stay in bo phut forsure

Only just back from Samui and the Fishermans village in Bophut is amazing - I stayed in Lamai for a few days and had intended staying in Chaweng but once we went to Bophut we never left. It sounds exactley what you are looking for. A few nice bars a few restaurants on the quite side but it is also a cheap taxi ride away from Chaweng. We stayed in the Baan Bohput and it was amazing its a small hotel but the service is brilliant and it is very chilled out. Enjoy your honeymoon

Thanks both of you, every time I look at a different area I keep coming back to Bo Phut, so I think thats our definite choice. There%26#39;s just so much to choose from I wanted to be sure we%26#39;d gone for the right one! Roll on next year - can%26#39;t wait!!
