hi Mark, we went to the metered taxi stand (just turn right outside the airport exit) they have set prices, last month we paid 420 baht to patong. cheers

Anything under 500 is an ok deal, you might need to employ your bartering skills to get as fair a rate in the return direction.

We pay 650 bht from airport to Amari, this is with the hotel, I know it is more, but the last thing I want to do is start haggling on taxi prices, or even think about finding one, after a long flight, much better to have somebody standing there with your name on, for 150-200 bht feel it is worth it.

If your hotel or guesthouse doesn%26#39;t do a Taxi service - most of them do - take the advice of the previous listing and get a taxi meter - when you exit the airport turn right and the booth is at the end of the airport building, we paid 470 tb in May to go to Patong.

We arrived on a Thurs around noon and found no taxis around, there were about 7 groups of people ahead of us and we waited for over 30 minutes before we decided to just get a ';limousine'; service to Karon for 650 (Usually cost 470 on meter). We decided to do that because the kids were getting antsy and hungry.
