Ko Samui or Krabi (or elsewhere)?

My finance and I are going on our honeymoon to Thailand and are in need of some good advice. Initially we will be staying at either Kata or Karon beach. That will be the recovery part of the trip (after wedding and very long flight!). Then we will do a few days in Bangkok, a few in Cambodia (Angor Wat) and then have 4-5 days more.

I need to decide if it is worth risking monsoon season in Ko Samui or would we be better off going Krabi or somewhere else? Any recommendations? Ideally it would be relatively close to Phuket as we are leaving from there.

Any hotel recommendations would be appreciated as well.

What month will you be in when you are looking to go to Koh Samui?

Koh Samui is definitely a gorgeous place to go to. I went last year in November for 5 days which was monsoon season. It was definitely enough time spent there. even 4 days will be enough time spent there. its pretty quiet in november which is good. no one hastles you. very peaceful. shopping is good but more expensive then phuket. beaches are very nice altho it would rain here and there for 10 mins also then stops and sunshine. so if your up for a bit of rain definitely expierence koh samui.
