Electricity supply and plugs!

Hi Guys

Coming to Phuket in just under 2 weeks, sorting all our stuff out and have just realised we dont know what the electricity supply is over there or what kinda plugs they use, so we can get the correct adaptors! Can anyone help please?

cant wait to leave cold UK for warmer weather!

Electricity supply and plugs!

They use the 2 prong type plug and you can buy adaptors when you arrive and some hotels offer them.

Thailand%26#39;s voltage is 220-240v AC, 50 Hertz. If you want to buy them before you leave the go for the universal adapters. That way you can use them anywhere worldwide.

you can get the adaptors in asda

For most plugs here you won%26#39;t need an adapter. Most places can take a two prong round or straight pin plug.

Yes, but you%26#39;ll need an adapter coming from the UK (3 pin plugs).

Hi Joolsss

Finding adapters localy is not a problem but you should pay attention to the local voltage as Rex-Diver mentioned. Without a voltage converter you will fry any 110 applience as sone as you plug it in with your new addaptor.

Most appliances will state on them that they can be used at 110 and at 220 if it does not say then do not plug it in. Labtops, Walkmans I-pods charging systems should be good for both but if you want to pack something like a hair drier it would be better to get a cheap local one then bying a converter.

So coming from UK - there still seems to be some confusion as to what type of plug - definitely seems to be two prong but is it round, straight, prongs at an angle - I bought quite a selection so maybe I should just take the lot and do I need one of these converter things if I am just charging phones, cameras etc?
