Flights within Thailand

Has anyone used Air Asia to fly within Thailand (i.e. Chiang Mai to Phuket or Krabi)? Is it safe? Their flights are so much cheaper than Thai Airways but I want to make sure it%26#39;s safe - comments?

Flights within Thailand

Hi

domestic flights inside thailand are very safe and cheap

have no fear

I have flown Bangkok Air. Nok Air. PB Air. Air Asia.

all fly modern jets with friendly service.

Dannyboy3 to note. Relax, it%26#39;s only an 85 mins flight from Bangkok to Phuket and, if you get a window seat, the views are wonderful. Have a great trip.

Jodes111,

My wife and I have flown Air Asia for the last couple of years and had no problems at all - they are really safe, and follow safety protocol as expected.

We wouldn%26#39;t use anyone else,

Cheers Latch

The only airline to fly directly from Chiang Mai to Phuket is Thai Airways,All other airlines change at Bangkok, which can mean a lot of travelling.

AirAsia is also very strict on baggage weight-15kg and then extra charges. You may want to try Thai Air%26#39;s special packages with 3 flights for $169US and $69US for additional flights up to 5 total.

';3 flights for $169US and $69US for additional flights up to 5 total';

don%26#39;t forget to add taxes to these prices!

We few with Air Asia from BKK to Phuket. No problem with flight to Phuket which left in the morning but we had a 2 hour delay on the return back to BKK (which was a 6pm flight). However we did get free drinks/sandwiches. Our 5 and 8 year old were ok with the delays but other people with younger kids had a harder time coping. Will still recommend them however.

Thanks for the info - this is my first time posting in a forum and it was very helpful!

A quick follow-up to tonybinak or anyone else who may be able to help - has anyone used the Thai Air packages? Just wondering if there are schedule restrictions or if these packages let me book pretty much whatever flights are available?

Thanks again!
