Snorkling with kids

I would like to take my kids snorkling (they have never been before). Ages 10 %26amp; 12. We are staying in Patong, Phuket, at Holiday Inn. Arriving in Phuket Sept for 9 days.

If the weather is great in September try a daytrip at Koh Racha Yai. It is an island located 1 and 1/2 hours south of Phuket. Departure from Patong is around 7:45 and return about 4:30pm. Costs around 1000 baht per person. Snorkelling equipment, lunch and refreshments on the boat included.

All the Dive centers on Phuket can arrange this for you. There are plenty of options in Patong.

In September the waves can be a bit high so it could be a bit rocky and rolly en route to the island. Once you are there it is relatively calm as the area is protected. So if you suffer from seasickness then it would not be an ideal option. (Seasick tablets are provided on the boats though).

Check with your local Dive Center if the weather and conditions are ideal. Otherwise from November - May we have many more options.
