another exchange rate question??

my folks just changed some money in Geelong and only got 22 baht for the aussie dollar?? that seems pretty ordinary to me, they leave next week, when the rate at present is 29.

We leave in 4 weeks where do we go to get the best exchange rate ??? I mean i would like 29 baht to the dollar.... or better than 22baht!!

Thanks in advance..

another exchange rate question??

Hi Dannyboy3, You will get the best rate by waiting to cash your money in Thailand, we usually cash $100 at the airport so we have money to pay for a taxi and some drinks when we arrive, but the rate is always terrible, just wait till you get there. Sue

another exchange rate question??

Thanks !!

Sorry mate but your folks got screwed. Dont change money until you get to Phuket, hope they didint change too much.

Any booth in the street will get you 28 to 29 baht for the aussie $ and you can change money at the airport when you arrive and still get that rate...Ronnie.

Great info.I was going to get a couple of hundred at Travelex in melb, but I will wait until I get to the airport now.

great info.cheers!!

Hi Dannyboy

I would get them to change $100 for you while they are there, and pay them when they return. That way you should get the best local Phuket street rate. (that is if they return before you leave!)

J

tell your folks to take their money back to the exchange place for a refund

they got ripped off

always change any currency in Thailand

NOOOOOO,

As Andy said tell your folks to take back their money because if the exchange is 29Baht to the dollar that is what you will get in Thailand. Travelex is the worst exchange rate i have ever seen so if they sell back they may get a better price than 22.

You don%26#39;t need money till you get to your resort and i am almost positive that you will not have to walk more than 100 metres to a money changer in Phuket.

Cheers, Pete.

Andy 53. Ever been to Spain?

You have simply no chance of getting a refund from a money exchanger after receiving a poor rate of exchange. That%26#39;s how they make their money - from gullible tourists - and is the same the world over I suspect. I once stood outside a money exchange in London for 2 hours warning others of a scam they were operating and for which they refused me a refund when I challenged their rates.
