Hyatt - Hua Hin

We are considering staying at the Hyatt, and had thought about the club rooms. We will have a small child (age 6), so thought the sofa bed option would be ideal, but from the various web sites, it isn%26#39;t obvious whether all club rooms have a balcony or patio area accessed from the room. Does anyone know?

The upper floor guest rooms all have balconies and the lower floor room have an extended lounge are.

Your travel agent should be able to advise and confirm before you book.

Does that mean that the ground floor club rooms do not have an outside private seating area?

Are there other hotels of a similar grade near the Hyatt which is suitable for children. We were not keen on the Hilton.

The Marriott Resort %26amp; Spa is near the Hyatt and only about a 10min walk to the centre of town. It is a low rise deluxe Thai style resort set in landscaped gardens with excellent facilities - again on the beach front and the hotel also has a children%26#39;s club. I think there are four or five different restaurants for choice dining including Italian, Thai and a Beach Side Grill and of course the Spa and Health Club.

I am reading this thread as we plan to stay at the Hyatt - I am still not sure if the ground floor rooms have an outside balacony/ patio area? Has anyone else styaed here and can advise

many thanks

We stayed at the Hyatt last summer. The ground floor rooms had a patio area, and the upper floors rooms had balconies.

We requested connecting rooms for us and our children, which we got, with proper connecting doors between the 2 rooms. However, I know there were some rooms for which just the balconies connected.

Thanks for your reply.

Our children are big so i am not too bothered about connecting doors. I am wondering if I should perhaps request for my mother and the two children to have a ground floor room and for my husband and I to have one higher up with a balcony - do you know if the higher rooms have views?

Also were you happy with the Hyatt - our son is 12 and the waterways sound good for him - our daughter is 16. I am also reading very good reviews of the Wora Bora

Did you book the Hyatt through their web site?

Thanks again for the input

I%26#39;m not sure how much better the views would be from higher up - we were looking over gardens. Although they were very beautiful, with all the plants and vegetation, you couldn%26#39;t see very far out. Maybe there are better sea view rooms? Also, remember it gets dark fairly early, so there%26#39;s not much to see at all later in the evening! Guess it depends how much you will be on your balcony during the day.

Our children loved the water slide - they were 10 and 7 when we were there. Must admit I enjoyed it too!

Not sure how much there is to do for teenagers in the hotel - one of the things we reallyl enjoyed (children too) was massages on the beach! There are several ladies down there, in both directions, who do foot massages. head massages, full body (you are in swimsuits) with or without oil, plus the usual hair braiding etc. I think an hours massage cost only about US$5!

We didn%26#39;t look at Wora Bura - had already booked Hyatt when I discoverd it, plus we felt it might be a bit too boutique for us as a family.

We booked Hyatt through Airline Network - best rates I could find at the time (www.airline-network.co.uk) - which worked out very well.

Hope you have a good trip - any more questions, please ask!

The Wora Bura is lovely but with a family I would say deffinately the Hyatt !

The Wora Bura is better for couples looking for a stylish resort, the Hyatt is far far better with children. Try some of the local Asia websites, www.asiaoz.com/thailand_hotels.html offers a choice of places you can compare rates from Hotelclub, Sawadee, Ratestogo etc

The marriott is another option, difference is that it is walking distance ( long walk though ) to the town and also an easy walk to the new large Mall, if that makes a difference for you, the mall has stores, restaurants, cinema, bowling and most weekends has some event or other, also you are close to the weekend night market at Grand Plaza.

Hyatt has larger grounds and overall great atmosphere but it is a tuk-tuk ride to/from town.
