VAT refund forms

Hi

Does anyone know where I can get those forms? I will be purchasing a big ticket item but I know the vendor does not have the forms. Would they be available at the airport when I arrive or somewhere else in town?

it%26#39;s my understanding that the place where you purchase your item must have the forms as it requires their VAT refund stamp before you can claim VAT refund at the airport. so if your vendor does not have a VAT refund for toursit sign in his/her shop the you will not be able to claim VAT refund. original invoices and tax invoices must be attached to the forms as well.

so you need to choose a vendor who participates in the scheme.

Thanks for that. I was actually wonderign if this was not the case. Each vendor probably has some kind of identification number it must put on the forms for verification so ti makes sense that only registered vendors woudl have the forms. I%26#39;ll get on my prospective vendor and asks to confirm.

VAT refund is not offered by all vendors so it%26#39;s a good idea to check. You definitely need to have it filled out and stamped by the vendor to qualify for a refund.

Note that once you arrive at the airport, you must go to the back of the departure hall before check-in and get customs to stamp your form and possibly inspect your goods. You can then proceed to check-in and drop off your VAT refunded good with your bags if you wish. Once you go past immigration and security, you can then get your money back at the designated kiosks. Many people omit the step of getting the forms stamped by customs before going through immigration, thus missing out on the refund.

there%26#39;s a strong possibility that your vendor will say that you should have no problem. after all he%26#39;she still wants the sale. if they have no sign and no stamp then they can%26#39;t do it. period.
