My wife and i leave on thursday for bangkok. We would like to do the tour of the floating markets and bridge over river kwai in the same day. do they have tour ';booths'; along the streets, like they have in phuket, where you can book the tours from. Also any idea of cost?

it%26#39;s not quite like that here in BKK. you can either organise trip thru your hotel and/or travel agent here. alternatively if you do a search on this forum for tour guides and/or drivers/minivans you will come across several people who are recommended. however this option may be not available as thursday could be too short notice, but do a search anyway then e-mail them.

Most hotels have a tour desk
Tell them what you want when you get to your hotel and they will arrange it for you
Personally I prefer the private tour which gives much more flexibility and no herding like sheep.
Normally a day tour out of bangkok will be about 2000 Baht + gas.
Leave early 6am to do the floating market to get there before the herds and have breakfast in the market.
Enjoy your trip
