singapore airlines

Hi we are flying singapore airlines to singapore and then silk air to phuket. Was wondering if anyone has used singapore airlines online check in service and if yes, did you think it was worth doing or should we just check in at airport. Also do singapore airlines have the screens in back of seats. Thanks for your help

singapore airlines

hi aussiedeb, we flew with singapore airlines and then silk air last month.

We did the online check in which we thought was worthwhile but no big deal if you dont. We chose our seats when we booked our tickets, but I think you can do this any time before. We got the seats we booked, and yes they have the screens in the back of seats. If you are in a row with no-one in front of you they extend from the arm rest. we found they had very up to date movies too. Their website has lots of info, even a list of the movies. The silk air plane did not have the screens, but this flight was only about 1.5 hours.

hope this helps

Just a question, when you did the online check in, did it check you in all the way through to Phuket or only to Singapore. I have only ever checked in the old fashioned way ( standing in a line for b****y ages!) and was going to use the online way this year.

Because we booked through a travel agent, I think we can only check in from 48hours before the flight. If anyone knows differently - please let me know.

Thanks

hi. we could only check in 48 hour before, and yes only the flight to singapore not singapore to phuket. our luggage went thru to phuket though.

cheers

Hi sunnymix,

sorry to keep bugging you with Q%26#39;s. We too are booked on the Singapore/silkair combo to Phuket. We only have 45mins between landing at Singapore and getting tfr to Phuket. I am assumung this is a %26#39;regular%26#39; connection and they allow for delays.

We are staying in Singapore for 4 days on the way back and really dont want to be stuch there an extra night!

regards wilyaroo

on line check in is the best way.....the Q at the airport for on line checked in passengers is much shorter. u cant check in for your silk air flight on line via the singapore airlines site but you will get your silk air boarding pass when at the SQ counter (make sure u ask for it).

45 mins should be ok to transfer in SIN. flights from aus usually arrive early. but dont dilly dally as you could be some distance from your transfer gate. check as soon as you arrive. there are a heap of departure screens all over the airport.

yes. I agree with lien. On our plane before landing in singapore they had the gate number for transit passengers onto various destinations. Check at the airport because the plane had the wrong gate number.!! We also had only 45 mins to transit but found this to be ok.

cheers

I have used the online thing... its good. It opens about 48 hours prior to your departure time. Had no problems with it at all......

Yes they do have the screens on the back of the seats. Just keep your fingers crossed you get their new entertainment system... we got stuck with the old one and it was sucky!

Only about 10 movies to choose from, all starting at the same time so if you miss it (which you do by the time you take off its already started) you have to wait for two hours to watch it again! A few TV shows that you have probably already seen!
