JohnnySF and JenPerth - Restaurants

Hi JohnnySF and JenPerth

Thanks for the tips below, but can you tell me are these restaurants close to La Flora? Ie walking distance. I know where the police boat is but not sure where La Flora is.

Also guys any feedback on the beach at La Flora

Thanks again

Ange

“A restaurant to try is a small open-air place on Bang Niang Beach Road. Believe it or not, its owned by a great French cook and his Thai wife. I hope its open this time of year. You will find it just doors east of the Emeral Guest House and a few doors east of Ried Ridgway%26#39;s Eco Tourism Traning Center. I wish I can remember the name...so if anyone knows, please put it here! Great food!!

Also try Mamas...right across the street from the ';Police Boat';. Ask your hotel concierge.

Chong Fah on the beach at Bang Niang was open and serves great food with good service and beautiful”

Hi Ange,

Just noticed your request for restaurants in Bang Niang. Of course this gives me the opportunity, as other forum members may comment on, to recommend the Takieng Restaurant, which is immediately to the left of the police boat as you look at it.

We went there several times during our last visit and will be going again quite soon.

All suggestions greatfully recieved. However we only have 6 nights!!!

Hi Ange,

While waiting for Johnny (I%26#39;m intrigued by his French Chef restaurant too!), the road down to La Flora is practically opposite the Police Boat and the Takieng, which Russetsprint quite rightly highly commends. One of the more atmospheric restaurants in KL we found.

After reading the great reviews on the Takieng we were looking forward to visiting this restaurant, however it was closed for renovation. Hopefully for others visiting soon it will be open shortly. I guess this quieter time of the year is the time for restaurants/businesses to renovate etc.

The Takieng is regretfully one of those restaurants which closes over the low season. This year Wichai is closed for a few weeks in June to visit his his home village of Tron in Northern Thailand. Last year he re-opened on 1 October.
