Advice for Oct/Nov

Hey

Just wondering could anybody help me. My partner and I are hoping to arrive in Bangkok in early Oct. We have five weeks to see Northern Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.

What would the cheapest way for us to go from Bangkok to Chang Mai, Bus? How much?. Where would the beat place to cross the border into Laos.

Any nice hostel in Bangkok city centre?

What will the weather be like in Oct/ Nov?

Any cheap Airlines that could fly us back from Hoh Chi Minh to Bangkok?

Any help would be great.
