simple and stupid questions~

hi~ i%26#39;m just triying to know some few stupid questions.

1. which is the best town..(like patong, kata, etc) that has a nice beach and a medium size town with decent restraunts?

there r so many towns.. i simply can not choose!!!

2. are there any medium priced clean villas, bungalows that%26#39;s ocean front?

3. any recommendations?? -food, phi phi isl. local travel agencies?

It would help to know roughly what your budget is for accommodation - ';Villas'; to me, aren%26#39;t usually mid-priced.

Also, let us know if you want to be near ';nightlife'; areas or not - or how far away from them is okay (30 minutes by taxi? 10 minutes? Walking distance?).

You are right, there is so much information that it is hard to sort out what is best!

Absolute beachfront bungalows and villas are hard to find right in the Patong/Karon/Kata strip.

YOu might google Baan Norbert - right on the beach/rocks, great views - but not really an individual bungalow or villa.

There are lots of ';best'; towns - depends a bit on what you want.

Kamala is a favorite of mine as it is closer to Patong than Kata, has a great beach AND has a nice small town flavor, yet plenty of excellent restaurants and small bars - and is probably 1/3 less costly than the main tourist trip of Patong/Karon/Kata.

For bungalows or villas of moderate price - right on the beach - try Andaman Bang Tao Bay Resort (ABTBR) on Bang Tao Beach - also the Best Western right next to the ABTBR has a couple large bungalows. Also, quite modest bungalows are on hand at the Bang Tao Lagoon resort.
