Mae hong son

I loved it

We stayed at the palms, the hot water didn%26#39;t work there were cob webs it was grubby not so bad I am just fussy. That aside Mae hong song was an expirence to be repeated.

The night market was amazing colouful and cheap! The tribal people in their wonderful clothes. The food at the road side.

The food in the sunflower cafe was yummy. The owners could not have been more helpful and they have decent bread,(The only place I found from Mae hong son to KO Sumui.)

We found Kei our taxi driver at the airport desk.Lovely lad speaks English. He took us to the caves...my highlight -we went at dusk there were bats flying against the outside light of evening. The caves are beautiful, be warned there is a lot of clambering wear good shoes and long pants. We also visited the national park and watched the fish queue to be fed.For goodness sake don%26#39;t put your hand in the water:)The fauna in the mountains is amazing we also saw elephants.

Try the watermelon smooties.

The seseme snaps in the market.

I want to go back soon.

Hi jewel,

Thanks for your post!

Did you visit any tribes, long neck in particular? What about hotsprings? or mud baths?

I%26#39;m going next fall and the three activities above are on my list of things to do. Can you provide some feedback on them?

I was thinking of doing like you did, hiring a taxi driver to do these activities instead of going through tours with other tourists, based on your experience, would you recommend it?

Thanks for your help!

mc

If you can provide info on them
