Accomodation questions, if you can help.

Hi all

Which would be the better of the two for Karon beach, Karon Beach Resort or The Village Resort (we are two adults wanting quiet resort).

Also is the Twinpalms Resort worth staying at?

Oh one last question does anyone know if all these resorts have in-room safe%26#39;s?

Thanks so much guys!!!

Accomodation questions, if you can help.

We have booked The Village for Dec/Jan and have been trying to get some more info. What time of the year are you going? We have stayed at Twin Palms and Surin beach is not that great in September. I prefer Kata that time of year. I will put my question on the village up and see if there are any answers.

Thanks Ange.

We are thinking of going next year sometime between June-Aug depending on finaces etc.

P.S What was the Twinpalms like overall?

It looks lovely on the websites/brochures.

Hi Maz, we stayed at Twinpalms for 12 nights last November and LOVED it!! (see our review for more details). The picutes don%26#39;t do it justice - it really is beautiful and the beach is wonderful (really comfy beach chairs!!)

We are heading back to Phuket again this year and are looking for somewhere a little more affordable to stay :-( I have also read that there is some construction noise around TP at the moment so it might be worth checking that out with someone who has been more recently.

Tasha :-)

Thanks Tasha.

What we are thinking of doing is staying in Patong for 10 nights (like we did last time) then a couple of nights in Karon and a couple of nights at the Twinpalms resort.

Twin Palms - it really depends on what you are looking for. In my opinion it is not a 5 star resort. If you want a 5 star around Surin I would look at Treetops or even the Chedi. I am not sure in June/July but in September Surin was really quiet with only a handful of Restaurants open. As I said the beach was rough aand not that attracive at that time. But perhaps you aren%26#39;t as fussed about swimming in the sea as you will have had some time at Patong. Someone will correct me if I am wrong but I think you can swim at Patong all year. Karon beach is very dangerous in the green season. The place we really wanted to stay at this time was Mom Tri%26#39;s Villa Royale, but it is full.

If you are going to spread your time around why don%26#39;t you try Khao Lak. Once again quieter but many beaches that are safe to swim all year round.

Back to Twin Palms - most people love it but we were dissappointed. The only place we have been in Thailand (about 8) that we have been but we do have high expectations.

I will report back on The Village on our return.

Thanks for all your info Ange, much appreciated.

As to the beach, we are not fussed with swimming at the beach so that is not a concern for us.

I will look into the other places you mentioned though.

I look forward to hearing about your report on the Village Resort too.

Thanks again.
